The M&G No. 04 is our most-sold fedora — 100% Italian wool felt, 2.2 mm thickness, hand-blocked on a 1922 wooden form that has shaped every No. 04 since our founding year. The slower blocking (3 days on the form vs. 4 hours on a modern hydraulic press) gives the crown a softer, more sculptural hand, and lets the felt relax into a shape that holds without stiffening.

What makes it different

100% Italian wool, 2.2 mm crown. Sourced from a 4th-generation Tuscan mill. Multi-directional felt for cleaner crease, longer memory, no visible pilling after 2 years of wear.
1922 vintage block, hand-shaped. The 3-day blocking cycle produces a softer, more "lived-in" crown than a hydraulic press — and the felt ages into the shape rather than fighting it.
Genuine vegetable-tanned leather band. 2.5 cm Tuscan leather band, hand-stitched. Ages to a deep patina. Replaceable / re-stitched at our atelier for the life of the hat.
Custom lining & sweatband. 100% cotton sateen lining, embossed with your brand mark. Genuine leather sweatband, sized to your fit.
